Meet Balu: our non-profit platform to help shelters and rescued pets
Today we officially launched Balu! An online platform to help animal associations share their pets and find perfect forever families for all of them.
Around two years ago we decided to build Giddy to help us improve our retrospective meetings and get feedback from the whole team more effectively.
As a digital studio, our team is usually split between different projects, and communication became difficult. It was a challenge to understand how the projects were going and, most importantly, how the team was feeling. 🧡
We started doing retrospective meetings without any structure but it usually took a long time and was not effective at all.
That’s when we decided to create an application to help us provide feedback on specific metrics like Client mood, Team mood, Project management, and Quality. We also wrote about it here.
The process we built looks like this:
With that said, Giddy is a special project for our team at Coletiv. It not only helped us learn technologies such as Flutter and GraphQL but also practice our UI design and branding skills.
Literally, every single member on our team has contributed to Giddy somehow. So, today, we are very happy to share that we officially launched Giddy 1.0 on the App Store and Play Store.
It’s now available for other companies that also want to improve communication and track team happiness. For free. 💪
Many times, project managers and leaders only have a client's perspective of how a project is going. But that’s not always the most accurate perspective.
Occasionally, there are issues that only your team can identify and it’s important to address them before a project goes off track. 🛤 The impact of team unhappiness is undeniable as it can reduce motivation, productivity, and even the quality of your projects.
That’s why Giddy has an ambitious vision to help project managers in Digital Agencies and SaaS companies better understand their team’s needs.
It helps provide a safe place where teams can express concerns and achievements in their projects. As well as, give managers the necessary feedback to plan actions for improvement.
Now enough of the philosophical part. If you want to try Giddy out, this is how the mobile application works.
Giddy is an application that we built in Flutter, an open-source framework by Google that allows building apps for multiple platforms using a single codebase.
Right now it is only available for iOS and Android devices but we are hoping to launch it on the Web soon if everything goes well. 🙌
Giddy is packed with features to help managers get the necessary information about their projects’ performance and team mood. Such as:
If you have any doubts when using the application feel free to check this support link.
We spent the last six months finishing the app and planning for this launch, so we couldn’t be happier to put it out there for others to use. Hopefully, more agencies and software houses will enjoy it as much as we do.
If you do try Giddy out, feel free to contact us and share some feedback with our team. We’d love to know your thoughts and how to improve.
For anyone interested in reading about project management and team happiness we invite you to follow Giddy on LinkedIn, Twitter, or Instagram.
